Build a Color System, Not a Collection of One-Off Designs
Start with a fixed brand zone. The logo, product type, typography, and one or two recognition assets should hold a consistent position. Then define the controlled variable: flavor color, ingredient image, lid color, pattern, or a narrow band. When every element changes between SKUs, the range loses recognition and production errors become harder to detect.
Do not use color as the only identifier. People may view the pack in weak light, have color-vision differences, or see a grayscale picking document. Pair variant color with a clear name, code, ingredient image, icon, or pattern. This also helps when two printed colors shift closer together than expected.
Test the complete range together. A single design can look excellent in isolation while disappearing beside another SKU or making two flavors difficult to distinguish. Test Color and Design Before Production

Give reviewers specific tasks: find the brand, name the product, identify the flavor, locate the net content, distinguish two similar variants, and find the preparation or storage instruction. A color seen on a phone or office monitor is not a production standard. Printed results depend on process colors, spot colors, inks, label film, white layers, opacity, gloss, texture, resin color, curvature, lighting, and the molding process. Agree on color targets and measurement conditions before commercial printing.
Flat proofs are useful for copy, hierarchy, and approximate color, but they do not reveal every molded effect. Tapered walls can distort circles and text. Corners may stretch graphics. Clear or colored resin changes appearance. Gloss can reduce readability through reflections. Approve a molded sample under the lighting and viewing distance expected in retail or use.

Readability, Barcodes, and Required Information Come First
Decorative graphics cannot consume space needed for mandatory information. IML is not automatically eco-friendly. Environmental claims should be specific, documented, and relevant to the destination market.
The better design goal is evidence-based improvement: appropriate material use, dependable product protection, efficient production, reduced rejects, clear disposal information, and a package that can be sorted in the intended system.
